Performance Description
Tacos a la microonda, is a performance installation piece that lends itself to the idea of cultural cannibalism. Cultural cannibalism, celebrates cultural experiences and is a way to examine social norms within the context of the current public space. This piece allows us to have dialogue about current acceptable aesthetics and rises the question of what is considered valid in our communities. What is being consumed and who is the consumer? What is culturally gained or lost through the consumption of tacos, sound, smell, and visual forms.
